Modeling OTT services in multiservice networks in order to synchronize and prioritize traffic

Due to the rapid development of multiservice networks OTT-services is emergence on the Internet, each of which uses network resources in different ways, has different characteristics and service requirements, the problem arises of developing and implementing methods for organizing traffic management. In this article, the authors introduce a definition of the term OTT service, describe the services of these services and compare them with traditional services. The authors indicate the key indicators of the network characteristics necessary to provide a given quality of service in the provision and transmission of traffic of various types. The authors identify a number of problems associated with the transfer of data through the networks of telecom operators. In this regard, for the necessary correction of the services, the authors provide prospective approaches and procedures for DPI-technology that provide the necessary requirements for the quality of service in the provision of services. Authors denote different traffic prioritization classes based on the requirements and behavior of certain types of applications, allowing for maximum flexibility in the transmission of user information and considering the possibilities of interaction of the DPI system with OTT services based on open solutions. In this article, we obtained graphs of experimental results and analyzed the effectiveness of signatures, obtained formulas for estimating the probability of events, and applied them to the corresponding statistical analysis. The authors simulated a network with DPI to provide the necessary quality of traffic services.
