EER power amplifier modulator efficiency improvement using PWM with additional sigma-delta modulation

The article deals with the problem of increasing the efficiency of EER transmitters. The results of computer simulation of the EER power amplifier using transistors made by common MOSFET and advanced GaN technology in the form of graphs: the dependence of the efficiency of the output voltage and the dependence of the nonlinear distortion of the output voltage are presented. A block diagram of a digital four-phase PWM signal generator with additional Delta-Sigma modulation is presented and described, as well as the results of its simulation, which include the measurement of the dynamic range at different frequencies and the evaluation of intermodulation distortions.
