In the modern information society, the issues of assessing the quality of information transfer are becoming more urgent. To assess the quality of transmitted binary signals, the author studies the power of selection of binary code combinations in the transmission of a digital signal. As a result of the study, a formula was derived for calculating the power of the variance of code combinations for redundant and non-redundant codes. The result obtained allows us to estimate the speed of computation when searching for optimal methods of coding.
