Realization of β Independent Stability Factor for a Biasing Circuit

The stability analysis of an electronic circuit is a measure of its sensitivity against the variation of collector current (I_C) with respect to I_co, β and V_BE parameters. An electronic circuit may be stabilize in two different ways: (a) Stabilization technique and (b) Compensation technique. In case of stabilisation technique, resistive biasing circuits are used to allow base current (I_B) to vary by keeping collector current (I_C) relatively constant with variations against different parameters like I_co, β and V_BE. Whereas, compensation techniques refer to the use of temperature sensitive devices such as diodes, transistors, thermistors, etc,. Later schemes provide compensating currents and voltages to maintain a constant operating point. In most of the cases, this is seen that the stability factor (S) mostly depends on the value of β. Whereas β is not constant for all the transistors. So, the circuit becomes unstable. Here a biasing circuit is developed to analyze the stability factor independent of β. In this circuit the stability factor S is controlled within the range of 1 ≤ S ≤ 2.
