0.5 W Ku Band SSPA with Gain and Phase Control for Beam Forming Network

This paper presents a novel, wide band 0.5W Ku band SSPA with low amplitude and phase error and HMC based compact control circuit. A 24bit shift register with low pass filter and 24 bit GaAs FET compatible complementary output circuit is implemented in HMC. In-house developed 1 W Ku band MMIC is used as output amplifier followed by a harmonic reject filter. The implemented system achieved the above mentioned functionalities with 42 dB gain in 800 MHz bandwidth and 27 dBm output power and RS -422 Tele Command interface.
