An Anomaly Detection and Fault Diagnosis Method for Multi-shaft Speed Sensors

As a key component of the train braking system, the shaft speed sensor of train plays an important role in the anti-skid control and lock control system of the train. Aiming at the common failures of four shaft speed sensors in a train, a method based on Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) is proposed in this paper to diagnose the common faults of multi-shaft speed sensors. All the above work is integrated in a platform based on LabVIEW software. The collected data are used to test the validity of the proposed approach. The results reflect the proposed method is simple and implementable to carry out online with good efficiency.
