Estimation of Series Resistance of Transformer Winding to Study Transient Phenomena

Exact determination of frequency and amplitude of resonance points in the frequency response is very important for fast transient analysis of a transformer winding. The accuracy of series resistance has significant role to determine the weakening of oscillations in a winding of a transformer. In this paper a novel method is used for estimation of series resistance in detailed model of transformer winding. In this regard, series resistance of the transformer winding is estimated by an exponential function. The proposed method improves input-output response beside the internal behavior of the winding. The results of the current essay have been validated with experimental tests.
