A Wideband Double-Layer E-shaped Microstrip Antenna

The multiple advantages has made microstrip antenna suitable for numerous applications. However, the narrow bandwidth impedes the further development of microstrip antenna. The limitation of microstrip antenna bandwidth ranges from 3% to 8% in normal conditions. In this paper, a wideband double-layer E-shaped microstrip antenna with high gain is proposed. The central working frequency is about 2.27 GHz. Results indicate that the relative bandwidth can achieve 21.15% with the VSWR < 2. The gain is higher than 8.26dB when ranging from 2.03 GHz to 2.51 GHz.
