Discrete realization of MRAScc estimator of induction motor speed using analogue emulation

In this paper the discrete realization of MRAS
^CC
estimator of the induction motor speed is analyzed. The influence of the type of the discretization method on the stability range of this estimator is tested. Three most popular discretization methods have been taken into account: the forward and backward Euler methods and the Tustin method. The influence of the discretization step is tested and the speed limit for the estimator stability is determined. Entire analysis is validated by simulation results in wide range of speed variation of induction motor drive, which was controlled by a field-oriented method, for various values of the discretization step.
