Hardware Design and Implementation of Multiconverter Module

This paper presents hardware design and implementation of multiconverter module which consists of two diode bridges along with two controlled switches connected in anti-parallel direction across the load. It can be made to work as rectifier, voltage regulator and cycloconverter. the proposed circuit requires only two gate controlled switches (IGBT has been used here). MATLAB/Simulink software has been used for the proposed circuit whose output results have been verified on the prototype Hardware setup. For the hardware module to work effectively various auxiliary circuits I.e. ZCD (Zero crossing Detector), Voltage regulator Circuit, Gate Driver/Isolation Circuit has been designed and their corresponding output results has been shown in the paper. Arduino has been used here as the Microcontroller whose program code for Interrupt detection and gate firing signal generation has been provided in the paper.
