Optimized DPD Feedback Loop for m-MIMO sub-6GHz Systems

Massive-MIMO antenna array is one of the adopted technologies for 5G communications, in which efficiency, integration and cost are very important and challenging requirements to be met. This work addresses the previous issues by proposing a technique that allows a significant reduction of the number of DPD feedback loops of the array. The proposed technique is based on statistical approximated multi-sine design and is associated to low complexity DPD structures that are preferred for massive-MIMO systems. Experimental validation results are obtained using current LTE-A MIMO signals and using class-AB GaN PAs.
