Magnetic Shielding Analysis of Bent Slot Loaded With High Permeability Materials

This paper presents a rigorous and analytic solution for magnetic shielding analysis of a bent slot loaded with magnetic materials. When a static magnetic field is applied in a transverse direction, magnetic flux densities in each region of the bent slot are formulated by vector potentials. Based on the Fourier transform and mode-matching technique, a modal solution, which is computationally efficient and accurate, is obtained. Using the proposed solution, a parametric study in terms of the bent slot shape and the inserted magnetic materials is conducted and the influence of each parameter on the magnetic shielding performance is investigated. For validation, the results calculated by the proposed solution are compared with those of 3-D full-wave simulation and good agreement has been achieved.
