Tone Tissue Meter: a new device to assess mammary compliance

Capsular contracture is one of the most common complications in prosthetic surgery. The techniques used for monitoring capsular contracture to date are affected by numerous limitations, such as poor objectivity and precision, which are due to the difficulties associated with the execution of such techniques, as well as their dependence on the precision of the operator. A new device, the Tone Tissue Meter, has been developed and tested to allow for the measurement of mammary compliance. The limits of the other techniques can be overcome thanks to a precise, well tolerated and automatic measurement system. The use of this device during follow ups with patients who have undergone prosthetic surgery provides specific, comparable and repeatable data.
