Inductive Ear-to-Ear Communication Systems: Coupling Enhancement by Means of Constructional Coil Features

This work evaluates four measures for increased inductive coupling by means of constructional coil features. In both experiments and simulations, the following parameters are studied with respect to mutual inductance M (x): Ferrite cores, strain wires, core shapes and ferrite shields. Thereby, x references different axial coil spacings. Based on the results obtained, the ideal transceiver structure for an inductive ear-to-ear communication system is proposed.
