Self-Organized Lightwave Network (SOLNET) Formed by Two-Photon Photochemistry for 3-D Integrated Optical Interconnects

Two-photon SOLNET, which enhances the self-aligned optical coupling capability in 3-D optical wiring, is found by FDTD simulations to exhibit lateral misalignment tolerances more than 3 μm between 600 nm-wide waveguides and [3 μm-600 nm] mode size conversion functions. Two-photon R-SOLNET is experimentally demonstrated.
