Modeling thin graphene sheets with efficient 2-D WLP-FDTD method

In this paper, an efficient two dimensional finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method with weighted Laguerre polynomials (WLPs) is proposed to model electromagnetic wave propagation in thin graphene sheets accurately. The proposed method incorporates introduces an auxiliary differential equation (ADE) technique to establish the relationship between the electric field intensity and electric displacement vector in graphene. The factorization-splitting (FS) scheme is used to solve the huge sparse matrix equation in the WLP-FDTD method. One numerical example is calculated to show the accuracy and advantages of the proposed approach.
