The article is an extension of a paper by J.A.N. Lee (see ibid., vol.17, no.4, p.24-45, 1995). It comprises three parts: a study of the financial implications of rental versus sales in the larger GE environment; a collection of differing views with respect to the GE management paradigm and its effect on the Computer Department; and a set of corrections to the original article.
