Levitation control of PEMS high speed maglev train considering the coupling effects within a joint structure

High speed maglev train is designed for long distance intercity transportation with a maximum speed of 600 km/h. The fundamental levitation component in a high speed maglev train is a joint structure which consist of two single-point levitation subsystems connected by a rigid levitation frame. Usually for ease of computation and analysis, researches are constrained on the the single-point levitation subsystem which neglect the mutual coupling of the two adjacent single-points in a joint structure. To improve the riding performance of high speed maglev train, first a model of the entire joint structure levitation system is obtained. Then a controller is designed based on classic LQR method. In the end the performance of the decoupling controller is compared with the traditional controller via simulation.
