PIC-based readout units for FBG sensors interrogation

In this work we analyze possibility of constructing integrated readout units for FBG sensors based on photonic integrated circuits in generic technology of indium phosphide. We consider two different architectures of such devices — the matrix of integrated tunable laser sources accompanied by a single photodiode detector and alternative design based on Arrayed Waveguide Grating (A WG) — based spectrometer with a broadband light source.
