Extension of navigation methods on the basis of the inertial approach

The paper gives a brief review of the results of the alternative concept for the implementation of the Schuler principle applied to an object performing spatial maneuvering, developed by the authors in their previous publications. In the framework of the proposed approach, based on the construction of a single-channel inertial vertical (SIV) on two vectors (observable and the specific force vector), the solutions to other problems are considered and substantiated: dead reckoning (DR) with compensation for the motion acceleration effects using SIV data and odometer (or log) readings; autonomous DR correction for realization of the observable vector by a free gyroscope with equatorial orientation (FG-E); correction of the FG-E errors using position updates, providing a control of the heading error etc. The discussion is supplied with a large amount of simulation results.
