Design of multiband sierpinski fractal carpet antenna array for C-band

Paper presents a design of (1×4) fractal antenna array for the C-band satellite-TV ground station. The microstrip line feeding network of the array is realized on the same board with radiating elements, and combined with the shorting-pin to reduce the antenna elements size. < −19.7 dB in bandwidth BW > 60MHz, for VSWR <2 at 50-Ohm input impedance. Total power gain of antenna array is greater than 12dB. The antenna array was designed and simulated by means of HFSS computer code. The simulated and experimental results agree favorable.
