Design of a microwave biosensor using a defected CSRR for cancer cells characterization

In this paper, we propose a microwave (MW) biosensor based on a CSRR element using a non invasive method. Firstly, we designed a high Q-factor CSRR that operates at 10 GHz. Then, we created a detection zone by defecting the substrate at the E-field peak region to guarantee a good sensitivity. Finally, we implemented a Cole-Cole model of two human colorectal tumor (i.e colo205 and Widr) in order to validate our design. The results exhibits a sensing level of 25MHz/cell.
