The Raman spectroscopy measurement of interstitial fluid in ST36 acupoint by optical fiber probe

Acupuncture in ST36 is of value for treating a number of diseases, improving immunity, and inducing analgesia. To better understand acupuncture for therapy, the mechanism of acupuncture was explored in this work by analyzing the Raman spectra of the acupoint ST36 using an optical fiber nanoprobe. The experimental results showed that the Raman spectrum of interstitial fluid in acupoint changed at the intensity of peaks, indicating that the component and the concentration of interstitial fluid was some changed by acupuncture. It indicates that Raman spectroscopy with optical fiber is a potential method for the mechanism study of the acupuncture in the future.
