Design and simulation of self-powered supply based on jiles-atherton hysteresis theory

In order to optimize the energy acquisition device on the transmission line, including reducing the volume of power supply coil and improving its economy, a new self-powered supply which can work for a long time without maintenance was designed. Based on the Jiles-Atherton hysteresis theory, ferromagnetic characteristic of power supply was studied and silicon steel sheet was used as core material. As long as coil turns were properly selected, the power supply coil can work steadily in the unsaturated zone. The calculation method of optimal turns was proposed to ensure the coil steadily work in non-saturation zone. In order to meet the requirement of practical application and maximize the energy obtained by power supply coil from transmission line, self-powered supply works intermittently when the current in transmission line is small. The simulation showed that the output voltage of self-powered supply was 5V and the output power was 2.5W when the transmission line current ranged from 20A to 1000A.
