Microstrip antenna with triple mode based on SRR structures

A novel microstrip antenna with triple modes based on split-ring resonators (SRRs) is proposed in this paper. The antenna consists of two parts: the right side adopts the dipole with the butterfly structure; two SRRs are on the left side. The antenna has three patterns: the low-frequency point has the maximum radiation direction of the +Y-direction at the far field direction; the intermediate frequency point has the omnidirectional radiation; the maximum radiation direction of the high frequency point is the — Y-direction. The field distribution, near-field reflection coefficient and far-field radiation pattern of antenna model verify the working mechanism of the antenna. The antenna has good impedance matching and potential application value in the wireless communication system.
