Design of a Q-band six-way spatial power combining structure

In this paper, a high-efficiency six-way spatial power combiner structure is presented. The structure is composed of a three-way branch-waveguide coupler with phase compensation and a waveguide T-junction with all ports matching and isolation between output ports. As a sample, a back-to-back six-way waveguide prototype, operating at 45 GHz is designed, fabricated and measured. The measurement results show that the insertion loss of the power combiner is less than 0.75 dB over the frequency range of 42-48 GHz, which demonstrates the low-loss performance of the proposed power combiner.
