Semantic representation of texts in Indian languages — A review

Semantic representations is a type of high level abstractions. In other way, it can be specified as an abstract language for the meaning representations of the given text. Semantic representation is a structured type representation of the meanings. It has many applications in the Natural language processing field like Information retrieval, semantic web, Machine translation, document classification, Text summarization, question answer systems etc. The conventional representation method of text is the bag-of-words method. They consider the text as bag-of-words. The disadvantage of those methods is that they do not consider the meaning and the ideas that the text document intends to convey. Various methods are employed to represent a text document. But limited works are only done in Malayalam language. In this paper, we inspect different methods that were adopted for the text representation of Indian Languages.
