Investigation of structural changes in liquid crystal doped with superionic nanoparticles

Using both acoustic and optical techniques in liquid crystals doped with superionic compounds Cu
₆
PSI
₅
/CU
₇
PS
₆
in 50:50 ratio dispersed in liquid crystal host, where structural changes on applied electric field are observed. The investigation methods involve measurements of acoustic attenuation of surface acoustic waves (SAW) and electro-optical response measurements using linearly polarized laser beam (532 nm) propagating through the sample. Both methods examine the system response on applied electric field for its increasing/decreasing application as well as change after jump change. Results obtained from these two methods are compared to show effectivity of these measurements, suspension stability and switching time.
