This paper details the primary control of a microgrid in islanded mode of operation. More specifically, specific droop control curve settings are developed for the energy storage system acting as the isochronous resource to maintain a desired state of charge for sufficient reserve for future provisions, as well as a means to instantaneously request more or less power from other distributed resources without using the communication infrastructure.
