Performance analysis of particle swarm optimization method applied to the maximum power point tracking

This paper analizes the performance of a maximum power point tracking method for photovoltaic panels using the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique with some modifications. The paper is based in computational simulations and its results were compared with those from the Perturbe and Observe (P&O) method, demonstrating the advantages of the proposed technique over the classic methods, when the panel is under partial shadding.
