Special protection systems' automatism by security regions

Security regions are elaborated by automatized processes and are meant to security assessment (dynamics or static) around of operation point. In other words, they enable visualize the status of a system operation and can be used, for example, for determining-whether a special protection system needs be enabled for all the periods of a day. Thus, it's suggested that security regions be applied on functionality automation enabled/disabled of systemic protections which would result in the reduction of power supply interruptions and the consequent elevation of reliability in the electrical system. On this paper, the software Organon is applied to build security regions and it's presented a case study referring to the impact of a double-loss on the transmission lines, in 345 kV, between Campos and Vitória. These circuits are assisted by the double-loss scheme, on 345 kV area Adrianopolis/Vitoria, which, as analyzed, does not need to be enabled for all load scenarios.
