Measurement precision improvement to estimate the immunity performance for in-vehicle ethernet

It is a well-known fact that a lot of electronic control units (ECUs) and high-speed communication local area networks (LANs) are necessary for self-driving vehicle systems. Original equipment manufacturers (OEM) are interested in Ethernet that has high data rate and low signal amplitude introduced on vehicles. Thus, ensuring immunity performance is one of the main issues in the in-vehicle Ethernet. Therefore we suggested a method to define a criterion for the immunity performance using the mixed-mode S-parameter for mode conversion (Sdc11) of 100Mbps and 1Gbps Ethernet ECU. In this paper, we propose and investigate a test method using highly precise S-parameters obtained applying de-embedding technique.
