Controlling of torque and flux for 3φ induction machine drive system (IMDS) using fuzzy controller (theory and introductory concepts)

In recent years, the application fields of direct torque control of induction drives have greatly increased in the areas of steel industry, paper mills and power plants and so on. It is based on decoupled flux and torque providing a very quick and robust response with a simple control construction in Alternating Current drives. Major improvement in modern industrial process over the past 50 years can be largely attributed to advance in variable speed motor drives. Prior to 1950s most of the industries use DC motors because three-phase induction motor could only be operated at standard frequency. Now thanks for the advancement in power electronic devices and the advent of DSP technology, which is fast, reliable and cost effective for the control of induction motors. In this paper, induction motor drives, Matlab simulink and the control strategy for induction drives have been discussed.
