Low energy electron microscopy observation of de-wetting of scandium on W(100), W(110) and W(111)

Thin films of scandium deposited by thermal evaporation in ultra-high vacuum on the low index tungsten surfaces W(100), W(110) and (111) are observed to de-wet when heated. Direct observation of the dewetting was observed in situ in real time with low energy electron microscopy.
