Development of a 2450 MHz, 50 kW CW Klystron

This work presents some preliminary results of the design of a klystron amplifier to be used as the microwave power source for an electron linear microtron accelerator. The main specifications of the microwave klystron design are: 2450 MHz of central frequency, with a bandwidth of ±2 MHz, and 50 kW of continuous power. A theoretical electronic efficiency of 60% is predicted by our model when the klystron cathode is driven by a voltage of 25 kV and 3.2 A of beam current.
