A survey to measure whether international business program (IB) course assignments are developing work skills at Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology

This study measured the extent to which International Business Program (IB) course assignments are developing important skills that will be beneficial to students' IB careers after graduation. Seven different types of assignments were given to students in three IB courses taught by the researcher over a period of three semesters and a 5-point Likert scale survey was conducted to measure whether these diverse assignments are developing 5 selected IB skills: adaptability, creativity, teamwork, cultural empathy and English proficiency. The results show that well-designed assignments, namely a short story writing project about another country followed by organizing an event as a community to promote cross-cultural exchange, develop the highest amount of IB work skills on average.
