Economic load dispatch using Newton's power flow method: (Using Inverted Jacobean Matrix)

The conventional economic dispatch in power system minimizes the generation cost for a given load pattern. The optimum values of real power generation at each of the generators are arrived at to ensure the power balance in the system which includes the total active power losses. The paper develops an algorithm for optimal power generation which takes into account the real power caused by the reactive component of the currents. The inverted Jacobin of the power flow algorithm is used which is indirectly available in connection with the normal power flow. The algorithm is tested on IEEE-30bus system.
