Analysis of MOOPF and SOOPF with and without IPFC using PSO

Optimal Power Flow (OPF) was the most attempted problem from decades, in this paper simulations are done to study the power system with single and multiple objectives. As a part of the study IEEE 30 bus system was considered, the objectives taken are Cost of generation, Transmission Loss, and L-index. In addition Multi type FACTS device is considered for both single objective optimal power flow (SOOPF), multi objective optimal power flow (MOOPF) and the results are compared. The results obtained suggest the placement of different power system components including multi type FACTS device, the multi type FACTS device considered in this paper is Interline Power Flow Controller (IPFC) which is a Voltage Source Controller (VSC). The optimization technique used in this paper is Particle Swarm Optimization.
