LabVIEW based data acquisition system for electrical capacitance tomography

In this paper an idea of an open system for electrical capacitance tomography with LabVIEW interface is presented. The EVT4 multi-channel data acquisition hardware is a main part of the system. This device offers a high signal to noise ratio of capacitance measurement and a high frame rate even for a 32 electrode sensor. The developed LabVIEW interface covers the entire functionality of the EVT4 communication protocol and implements multi-threading. The users can create own software dedicated to a given application. The elaborated open system allows working with sensors of various electrode configurations and different excitation cycle. The application of LabVIEW interface should facilitate the compilation of the measurement setup using not only the EVT4 hardware but also additional devices used in the experiment.
