Testbed implementation and proof-of-concept demonstration for cooperative device-to-device communication framework

This paper presents the measurement results for orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) based cooperative device-to-device (C-D2D) communication framework. As a proof of concept demonstration and performance assessment, the framework has been implemented on a software defined radio (SDR) based National Instruments (NI) Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) platform. Further, a subcarrier sharing scheme is proposed to facilitate D2D communication. To quantify the performance, received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and symbol error rate (SER) are measured. The measurement results show significant performance improvement with C-D2D communication framework.
