An adaptive polytopic observer-based sensor fault tolerant controller design

This paper focuses on treating the problem of sensor fault tolerant control for linear parameters varying (LPV) systems. The main idea is to design a fault tolerant controller (FTC) including three blocks: a model reference, an adaptive proportional controller and especially an Adaptive Polytopic Observer (APO) as a Fault Detection and Diagnosis (FDD) module. The designed controller is on-line reconfigured so as to tolerate sensor faults and ensure the tracking of the real outputs to the referential ones. The APO and the controller gains are obtained by solving a set of linear matrices inequalities. And the proposed method is applied to a two tanks process.
