Bifurcation behavior of photovoltaic panel fed Cuk converter connected to different types of loads

Dynamics of the nonlinear current source photovoltaic panel fed Cuk converter under fractional open-circuit voltage MPPT control method and connected to different types of loads such as constant impedance (resistance) load, battery and constant current load have been explored. Mechanisms as well as the critical values of the loss of stability of desirable period-1 orbit have been detected by taking power circuit parameters as bifurcation parameters. Smooth period-doubling bifurcations have been observed which is a fast-scale instability. Non-smooth border collision bifurcations giving rise to chaotic behavior have also been witnessed.
