Interface effects on the magnetisation and magnetooptical rotation in Co/sub x/Ni/sub 1-x//Pt multilayers

The interfaces play a dominant role in determining the properties of the multilayers. If the interface is sharp then due to break in the symmetry the surface anisotropy would appear. On the other hand when there is alloy formation this leads to modifications in the magnetisation and in some cases can also lead to some anisotropy.
