Output enhancement effect of magnetic under-layer in high-density magnetic recording

The development of metal particulate (MP) media has been carried out with main focus on 1) high magnetic flux density. 2) high coercive force, 3) smooth surface and 4) thin magnetic layer [1,2]. However, those methods have reached their technical limits today.
