Methods for graphical analysis of measurements

Measurements that are used for passive location of emitting objects can be used individually, combined with multiple measurements of the same type, or combined with multiple measurements of different types. When measurements are combined, it is useful to understand how to develop the combination of measurements that is efficient and provides optimal location accuracy. Having graphical methods that allow the analyst to visualize individual measurements, and see how multiple measurements work together, is a useful capability in selecting the best combination of measurements and predicting performance. In this paper several methods developed in MATLAB^® for graphical representation of common measurements used for passive location are presented and illustrated.
