Optimal power flow for IEEE 30 and 118-bus systems using Monarch Butterfly optimization

A new metaheuristic algorithm "Monarch Butterfly Optimization (MBO)" is used in this paper to extricate the problem of Optimal Power Flow (OPF) for standard IEEE 30 and 118-bus test power systems. Three functions (Fuel expenses, Total voltage deviation, and Real power loss in transmission) are enhanced by applying the suggested technique and the outcomes attained are juxtaposed with those of other techniques stated in the literature. This comparison demonstrates that Monarch Butterfly Algorithm imparts superior results than other algorithms.
