Configurable process mining: A comparative study

Nowadays, variability management in the business processes domain is considered as a key of reuse. This can be reached by the concept of configurable processes which have become more and more used by organizations. However, the management of these configurable processes remains manual despite the diversity of works proposed in this field. As a result, significant research efforts have been made on the development of mining techniques for business processes, in order to automate the creation, the configuration and the evolution of these models. Furthermore, the study of existing approaches shows the lack of solutions integrating both the activities, resources and data perspectives with respect to the variability. In this paper, we will present a comparative study to assess configurable process mining approaches with the aim of proposing a multi-perspective configurable process model discovery approach. This comparative study is conducted in term of multi-perspective variability use.
