Update to "The Future Is Present in California: Delivering on the Promise of Fuel Cell-Powered Transportation" [Addendum]

On 26 January 2018, California Governor Jerry Brown issued Executive Order B-48-18. Along with a companion funding plan, the executive order establishes new goals for California's zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) population and the deployment of enabling fueling and charging infrastructure. In the March issue of IEEE Electrification Magazine, the authors of "The Future Is Present in California: Delivering on the Promise of Fuel Cell-Powered Transportation" [1] discuss the original goal of establishing 100 hydrogen fueling stations by 2023. California has now doubled its prior hydrogen fueling station goal, with the new executive order establishing a goal of 200 hydrogen fueling stations by 2025. Along with complementary goals for electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, the executive order has a new target of 5 million ZEVs on California's roadways by 2030, which will include both battery electric and fuel-cell EVs.
