Narrowband radar imaging using NetRAD and NeXtRAD data

Multistatic measurements of targets and clutter have been performed over the past few years by the NetRAD system developed at the University College London and the University of Cape Town. NetRAD is a three-node, coherent, multistatic, pulse Doppler radar operating at S Band (2400 MHz). NeXtRAD is a new version of this system, operating polarimetrically at L and X Bands. The results obtained by NetRAD have been used for a number of investigations (mostly multistatic sea clutter). This paper reports on results using narrow bandwidth NetRAD data to generate imagery with high spatial resolution. The high spatial resolution is obtained by applying the principles of tomography to a multi-site radar system which is illuminating a target over a complete angular range of 360 degrees. This paper discusses the current narrowband imaging results using NetRAD and NeXtRAD data.
