A hybrid algorithm for sparse circular array SLL suppression under the constraint of ADRR

This paper proposes a hybrid algorithm to suppress the sidelobe level (SLL) of the non-uniform sparse circular array. It takes full advantages of each single algorithm to obtain a low peak side-lobe level (PSLL), in which Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is used as the global searcher to optimize the positions of array elements and Second-order Cone Programming (SOCP) is used as the local searcher to obtain the optimal weight excitation. We also propose an effective method to optimize the amplitude dynamic range ratio (ADRR), making the system achievable in practical application. Results indicate that our algorithm is competitive and easy to realize.
